passiveness
State of nonresistance
Passiveness is the quality of accepting what happens without active response or resistance.
It describes a state of being acted upon rather than acting: His passiveness in meetings frustrated colleagues who wanted input.
The word carries connotations of excessive yielding or lack of initiative, often more negative than the near-synonym passivity.
