proactiveness

Acting before needed

Proactiveness is the quality of taking initiative rather than waiting for circumstances to force action.

Someone with proactiveness anticipates problems and addresses them before they escalate: Her proactiveness in identifying risks saved the project.

The word is common in business contexts but often replaced by the simpler *proactivity*.
