sedentariness
Chronic sitting lifestyle
Sedentariness is the quality of being sedentary—sitting too much, moving too little.
The term appears most often in health contexts, where prolonged sedentariness is linked to obesity, heart disease, and other conditions: Office workers combat sedentariness with standing desks and walking meetings.
The word is somewhat clinical; in casual speech, people more often say they sit too much or don't get enough exercise.
