painite
Extremely scarce crystal
Painite is an extremely rare mineral, a reddish-brown crystal first discovered in Myanmar in the 1950s.
For decades it held the Guinness World Record as the rarest mineral on Earth, with fewer than a dozen specimens known.
More deposits have since been found, but painite remains a prized collector's gemstone.
