oxygen sensor
Emissions feedback device
An oxygen sensor is a device that measures the concentration of oxygen in a gas or liquid.
In automotive use, it monitors exhaust gases to help the engine computer adjust the air-fuel mixture for efficient combustion and reduced emissions: The check engine light came on because of a faulty oxygen sensor.
Also called an O2 sensor.
