oversweetening
Too much sugar
Oversweetening is adding too much sugar or sweetener to something, pushing it past pleasantly sweet into cloying: The oversweetening of commercial bread makes it taste like cake.
The term applies literally to food and drinks, and figuratively to anything made excessively saccharine—music, sentiments, or stories ruined by too much sweetness.
