one shots
No sequel needed
One shots are creative works designed as standalone pieces rather than parts of a series.
In fanfiction and original writing, a one shot is a complete story in a single chapter or installment: I wrote a quick one shot about the characters meeting.
In gaming, a one shot is a self-contained adventure meant for a single session.
The term also appears in music for songs recorded as isolated projects rather than album tracks.
