efforts

Energy toward goals

Efforts is the plural of effort—exertions of physical or mental energy toward a goal.

The word often appears where a single "effort" might suffice, perhaps because multiple attempts or contributors are implied: conservation efforts, fundraising efforts, efforts to reduce costs.

Someone's efforts are their work or contributions: We appreciate your efforts.
