one's

Belonging to oneself

One's is the possessive form of the pronoun one, used when speaking generally about a person rather than specifically: One must mind one's manners.

The construction sounds formal in American English, where "your" often substitutes: You have to watch your step.

One's also contracts "one is" or "one has": That one's broken, One's got to try.
