occidental
From the West
Occidental means western, referring to the countries and cultures of Europe and the Americas as distinguished from the Orient (Asia).
The term appears in formal or historical contexts: occidental philosophy, occidental traditions.
It's the counterpart to oriental, and like that word, sounds dated in contemporary usage.
As a noun, an Occidental is a person from the West.
