nu-jazz

Synthesized bebop offspring

Nu-jazz is a broad term for jazz-influenced music that incorporates electronic production, hip-hop beats, or other contemporary elements.

The style emerged in the 1990s, blending acoustic jazz instrumentation with drum machines, sampling, and ambient textures: The nu-jazz scene drew from both Blue Note records and UK club culture.

Also called future jazz or electronic jazz.
