nightlamp

Dim bedroom illumination

A nightlamp is a small, dim light kept on during sleeping hours, typically to provide enough illumination for navigation without fully waking someone.

Parents often use nightlamps in children's rooms to ease fear of the dark: She left a nightlamp glowing in the hallway.

Also called a night light.
