myelomas

Bone marrow cancers

Myelomas are cancers of plasma cells, a type of white blood cell that produces antibodies.

The disease, usually called multiple myeloma, causes abnormal plasma cells to accumulate in bone marrow, crowding out healthy blood cells and often damaging bones.

The patient was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after complaining of bone pain.
