solid tumors
Discrete tissue masses
Solid tumors are abnormal masses of tissue that form in organs or structures throughout the body—in the breast, lung, colon, prostate, or brain, for instance.
The term distinguishes these growths from blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, which don't form discrete masses.
