music track
Single recorded piece
A music track is a single recorded song or piece of music, especially as one item on an album or playlist: Skip to the next track.
The term comes from the physical grooves on vinyl records and the separate channels on recording tape.
In production, a track may refer to an individual layer of sound—vocals, drums, bass—that combines with others in a mix.
