inviscid
Lacking internal friction
Inviscid describes a fluid with no viscosity—no internal friction or resistance to flow.
The term appears almost exclusively in physics and engineering, where inviscid flow is a theoretical idealization that simplifies calculations: The model assumes inviscid, incompressible flow.
Real fluids always have some viscosity, but treating them as inviscid often yields useful approximations.
