minor scale

Darker tonal pattern

A minor scale is a musical scale with a characteristically darker or sadder sound than a major scale, produced by a different pattern of intervals between notes.

The natural minor scale has half steps between the second and third degrees and between the fifth and sixth.

Variations include the harmonic minor and melodic minor scales, each altering certain notes.

The piece shifts from C major to A minor.
