microverse
Subatomic contained reality
A microverse is a self-contained universe existing at microscopic or subatomic scale—a cosmos nested within our own, perhaps on a single atom or within a drop of water.
The concept appears in science fiction and comic books, where characters shrink to discover entire civilizations thriving in miniature realms: The scientist discovered a microverse teeming with intelligent life.
By extension, microverse can describe any small, self-contained world or ecosystem: The terrarium was its own little microverse.
