metastatic
Describes migrating tumors
Metastatic describes cancer that has spread from its original site to other parts of the body.
Cancer cells break away from a primary tumor, travel through the bloodstream or lymphatic system, and form new tumors elsewhere: metastatic breast cancer, metastatic disease in the liver.
The noun is metastasis; the verb is metastasize.
