meso
Between macro, micro
Meso is a prefix meaning middle or intermediate.
It appears in scientific terminology: the mesosphere is the middle layer of Earth's atmosphere, mesolithic describes the middle Stone Age, and in anatomy, the mesentery is tissue in the middle of the abdominal cavity.
In casual use, meso- suggests something between extremes: a meso dose.
