megacorp
Massive business entity
A megacorp is an enormous, powerful corporation, typically one depicted in science fiction as wielding influence rivaling or exceeding that of governments.
The term comes from cyberpunk literature and gaming, where megacorps control entire sectors of society: In this dystopia, three megacorps own everything.
Outside fiction, it's used critically for real-world corporate giants perceived as too powerful: Another megacorp buying up the competition.
