media centers

Home theater furniture

Media centers are facilities that house collections of audiovisual materials and equipment—libraries with video, audio, and digital resources rather than just books.

Schools and public libraries often have media centers where patrons can access computers, watch films, or borrow recordings.

The term also refers to home entertainment systems that integrate television, streaming, and audio components into a central hub: We set up a media center in the basement.
