meatlessness
Absence of flesh
Meatlessness is the quality or state of containing no meat, or of abstaining from meat consumption.
The term appears in discussions of vegetarian and vegan diets, religious fasting practices, or food labeling: The meatlessness of the dish made it suitable for Lent.
It can also describe a broader cultural shift: the growing meatlessness of modern menus.
