matinée

Early theater performance

A matinée is an afternoon performance, typically of a play, movie, or concert: We caught the Sunday matinée.

Matinée tickets are usually cheaper than evening showings.

The word comes from French for "morning," though in English it refers to daytime performances generally, not specifically morning ones.
