look around

Scan the area

To look around is to survey one's surroundings or explore a place visually: I just want to look around the shop.

It can mean searching without urgency: Have you looked around for your keys?

The phrase also describes casual browsing, as in a store where you're not committed to buying: I'm just looking around, thanks.
