lodge meeting
Fraternal order assembly
A lodge meeting is a formal gathering of members of a fraternal organization such as the Freemasons, Elks, or Odd Fellows.
These meetings follow established rituals and procedures, conducted in a dedicated meeting hall also called a lodge.
The term evokes mid-twentieth-century American social life, when lodge membership was common among middle-class men: He never missed a Thursday lodge meeting.
