liveblogging

Narrating events online

Liveblogging is posting real-time updates to a blog or social media during an unfolding event—a political debate, a product launch, a sports match.

The format creates a running log with timestamps, allowing readers to follow along as events happen: I'll be liveblogging the election results tonight.

The practice emerged in the early 2000s and remains common for breaking news.
