learning pods
Small study collectives
Learning pods are small groups of students who study together outside traditional school settings, typically organized by parents.
The term gained currency during the COVID-19 pandemic when families pooled resources to hire tutors or share homeschooling responsibilities while schools were closed.
Pods might meet in homes, with parents rotating supervision or splitting the cost of a teacher: We joined a learning pod with three other families from the neighborhood.
