affinity groups
Shared-interest collectives
Affinity groups are collections of people who share a common identity, interest, or background.
In workplaces, they're voluntary associations of employees with shared characteristics—often race, gender, or sexual orientation—who meet to support each other and address common concerns: The company has affinity groups for LGBTQ employees and working parents.
In activism, affinity groups are small clusters who coordinate together during protests or direct actions.
