leafstalk
Leaf's stem attachment
A leafstalk is the slender stem that attaches a leaf blade to a plant's branch or main stem.
The technical term is petiole.
Some leaves lack leafstalks entirely, attaching directly to the stem: The celery we eat is actually the leafstalk, not the stem.
