Dirty clothes drop
A laundry chute is a vertical shaft built into a house, typically running from an upper floor to a basement or laundry room, allowing dirty clothes to be dropped down rather than carried.
The chute usually has a small door or hatch on each floor it serves: Just toss your towels down the laundry chute.
