Green-fleshed New Zealander

Kiwifruit is an egg-sized fruit with fuzzy brown skin and bright green flesh surrounding tiny black seeds.

The taste is sweet-tart, somewhere between strawberry and melon.

Native to China but commercially developed in New Zealand, it's named for the kiwi bird it vaguely resembles.

Often shortened to kiwi: Add sliced kiwi to the fruit salad.
