kiwi bird
New Zealand's nocturnal
A kiwi bird is a flightless bird native to New Zealand, roughly the size of a chicken, with hair-like feathers and a long bill.
The five species are nocturnal and ground-dwelling.
New Zealanders are called Kiwis after the bird, which appears on the country's coat of arms.
The kiwifruit was later named for its resemblance to the bird.
