Frankensteining model parts
Kitbash is to build a model by combining parts from multiple commercial kits rather than following a single kit's instructions.
The practice originated among model railroad and sci-fi hobbyists who wanted unique designs: He kitbashed three Star Wars kits into an original starship.
The term now extends to any creative recombination of prefabricated elements, especially in 3D digital art where artists assemble scenes from libraries of premade assets.
