guest lecture
Outside speaker's presentation
A guest lecture is a talk given at an educational institution by someone who is not a regular member of the faculty, typically an expert or professional invited to share specialized knowledge or real-world experience with students.
The term also functions as a verb: She guest lectured at Harvard last spring.
Guest lectures break up routine instruction and expose students to perspectives outside the usual curriculum.
