key card
Electronic door opener
A key card is a plastic card that unlocks a door electronically, used instead of a traditional metal key.
Hotels issue key cards to guests; offices use them for building access.
The card contains a magnetic stripe or chip that communicates with the lock: My key card stopped working and I got locked out of my room.
