road races
Pavement running events
Road races are competitive running or cycling events held on public roads rather than tracks or trails.
The term covers everything from local 5Ks to marathons to professional cycling tours.
In motorsports, road racing refers to events on courses with turns in both directions, as opposed to oval tracks: The sports car club hosts road races on weekends.
