inbound pass
Sideline restart throw
An inbound pass in basketball is a throw from out of bounds to a teammate on the court, used to restart play after the ball goes out of bounds, after a made basket, or following certain fouls and violations.
Teams have five seconds to complete the pass.
Defending the inbound pass is a key element of late-game strategy: They stole the inbound pass and won the game.
