ilk
Breed or stripe
Ilk means kind or type, almost always appearing in the phrase of that ilk or of his ilk: politicians of her ilk, conspiracy theories and nonsense of that ilk.
The word often carries a dismissive or negative tone, grouping people or things together as if they share undesirable qualities.
Originally a Scottish term meaning "same," it now functions as a slightly formal or literary synonym for sort.
