hymnboards

Hymnboards are display boards found in churches, typically mounted on walls near the front of the sanctuary, showing the numbers of hymns to be sung during a service.

Congregants use these numbers to find the corresponding songs in their hymnals.

The boards usually have slots for removable number tiles that can be changed each week.

Though increasingly replaced by projection screens, hymnboards remain common in traditional churches.
