hydrocephaly

Fluid-filled skull condition

Hydrocephaly is a medical condition in which cerebrospinal fluid accumulates abnormally in the brain, causing the head to enlarge—especially visible in infants whose skull bones haven't yet fused.

The buildup creates pressure that can damage brain tissue if untreated.

Also called hydrocephalus or, informally, water on the brain.
