humpty
Seated egg character
Humpty describes something rounded and hump-shaped, or a person who is short and squat.
The word survives mainly through the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty, the egg who fell from a wall.
In Australian slang, a humpty is a makeshift shelter or hut.
British slang uses humpty to mean in a bad mood or offended: Don't get humpty with me.
