hoses

Garden watering tubes

Hoses is the plural of hose—flexible tubes for conveying water or other fluids: garden hoses, fire hoses.

To hose is to spray with water: He hosed down the driveway.

In slang, to hose someone is to cheat or defeat them badly: We got hosed on that deal.

Hose also refers to legwear—stockings or tights—though that sense usually appears as the singular: pantyhose.
