Homogenized milk has been processed so the cream doesn't separate and rise to the top.
The fat globules are broken into smaller particles that stay suspended throughout the liquid.
Most milk sold in stores is homogenized: I grabbed a gallon of homogenized milk.
Before homogenization became standard, you had to shake the bottle to mix the cream back in.
