Secret inner nature
The hidden self is the part of a person's identity, thoughts, or feelings they keep concealed from others.
In psychology, it refers specifically to aspects of oneself known to the individual but not revealed to the outside world—secrets, private fears, suppressed desires: Her hidden self harbored ambitions she never voiced.
The concept appears in the Johari window model of self-awareness.
