herstories
Feminist historical narratives
Herstories is a feminist coinage replacing the *his* in *histories* to emphasize women's experiences and perspectives, often those overlooked in conventional historical accounts: The museum's exhibit focused on the herstories of immigrant women.
The wordplay is etymologically playful rather than accurate—*history* derives from Greek *historia* (inquiry), not from *his*—but the term signals intentional recentering of narrative around women.
