heating system

Indoor climate control

A heating system is the equipment that warms a building—furnace, boiler, radiators, ductwork, or other components working together to distribute heat.

The term treats these parts as a unified whole: The heating system needs to be inspected before winter.

Central heating systems warm entire buildings from one source; space heaters are not typically called heating systems.
