hand pass
Direct player transfer
A hand pass is using the hand to direct the puck to a teammate in hockey—illegal in most zones but permitted in the defensive zone.
The referee stops play and conducts a faceoff when a hand pass violation occurs: The goal was disallowed due to a hand pass in the offensive zone.
