gunstock
Firearm's wooden support
A gunstock is the wooden or synthetic part of a rifle or shotgun that braces against the shooter's shoulder.
The stock provides stability and absorbs recoil.
He carved the gunstock from walnut.
The shape has influenced furniture design—a gunstock corner in cabinetry features a similar angular profile.
