guild-hall

Medieval artisans' meetingplace

A guild-hall is a building where a guild meets and conducts its business.

In medieval and early modern Europe, these were centers of trade regulation and craft administration.

The term persists in proper names of historic buildings: London's Guildhall dates to the fifteenth century.

Sometimes spelled as one word: guildhall.
